Mapping Specialist

Position Summary
This position is primarily responsible for assisting the Real Estate Department in carrying out duties related to acquisition, disposition and property maintenance. This position is basically an office position; however, work is performed in the field on an as-needed basis. This position prepares and assembles information on the condition and characteristics of property, such as ownership, location, lot size and dimensions, etc., and monitors routine maintenance of URA-owned lots. This position also prepares a wide range of graphic material which is used Authority-wide for planning, engineering, educational, survey, and demonstration purposes. This employee works under general supervision of the Real Estate Manager following accepted practices and procedures.

Examples of Representative Duties

Recording and Title Work: recording consolidation and subdivision plans, researching the content of easements listed on title reports
Drafting and Mapping: drafting disposition plot plans, creating Viewer’s plans, updating and maintaining acquisition and ownership maps using Lot and Block maps, using GIS to make maps for presentation purposes
Graphic Design: creating a variety of graphic displays as assigned.
Sideyard Program: obtaining letters of support from community groups for sideyard sale transactions. After conveyance of property, reviewing to see if improvements have been completed and recommend Certificate of Completion is issued.
Community Liaison: investigating specific inquiries and requests when necessary
Complaints: handling complaints about URA properties
Performing other duties may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires completion of a technical school program in drafting, computer aided design, graphics or equivalent. Experience a plus. Knowledge of the techniques and materials associated with graphic display is necessary. The abilities to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and to prepare a variety of graphic displays on the basis of general guidelines are needed. Another combination of education, experience, knowledge and abilities demonstrating the qualifications necessary to perform the duties of this position would also be considered.

Salary approximately $38,000 plus excellent benefits.
