Hiring Range:  $24,120.00 - $37,308.00

Position Description:  This position will provide professional level administrative and budgetary expertise in pre-and post-award activities for sponsored projects for the Center for Minority Health. Individual will work with faculty and professional research staff in all aspects of fiscal project management, including compliance with institutional and sponsored agency policies and procedures. Will oversee the preparation of expenditure processing in accordance with allowable project costs and any special approval/ documentation required; train any new sponsored project resource management staff in expenditure form preparation/processing. Maintain a strong working relationship with Research Accounting and the Office of Research. On a timely basis, review with Principal Investigators expenditure status reports and discuss any foreseeable problem areas and provide recommendations for resolutions.  

Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree (or equivalent 5 years progressive University experience) required. Training, experience, background in sponsored project administration, budget techniques and accounting procedures; facility with Excel, Word, WordPerfect, and Access applications and related software for database management of project accounts is necessary. Knowledge of University policies and procedures. Intelligence, good judgment and initiative a must.   Minimum 5 years University-based and progressive experience preferred. Experience with Excel and Access, understanding of the University system and experience within a research environment. Professional demeanor with good interpersonal skills, organizational skills and the ability to establish priorities is essential.

Scheduled Work Hours 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
