Urban Youth Action, Inc. was founded in 1966 by the late Mr. Bernard H. Jones, Sr. UYA was formed to assist young people in developing the skills necessary to graduate from high school and successfully enter the world of work and/or post secondary education. The mission of Urban Youth Action, Inc. is to ensure at-risk youth graduate from high school work ready, life prepared and community minded. On an annual basis, UYA provides services to approximately 1,400 young people throughout Allegheny County.
Position Description
Position: Program Manager: Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurship
Reports To: Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivers and evaluates financial literacy curriculum and other related curricula across UYA core and supplemental program areas.
- Manages business development activities and business enterprise ventures for UYA students.
- Develops and presents curriculum as needed.
- Participates on local and state committees and taskforces related to financial literacy and
- Entrepreneurship and other related activities across relevant UYA program areas.
- Identifies and supports all fund development activities related to financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
- Develops and maintains relationships with local school networks of entrepreneurs, financial institutions and other relevant organizations, as needed.
- Manages all program participant activities and events.
- Supports on-going marketing and public relations related to financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
- Manages all administrative paperwork and reporting functions related to financial literacy and entrepreneurship contracts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with preferred concentration in business, finance entrepreneurship, or related field required. Master’s Degree with preferred concentration in business administration or related field preferred.
- Excellent time management, organization, report preparation, presentation, and multi-tasking skills required.
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania Academic State Standards and funding/regulation requirements.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge regarding business development.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to qualify for all relevant employee clearances (e.g., Act 33/34).
