Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School (www.olsh.org), a ministry of the Felician Sisters, is a Catholic college preparatory school educating students in grades 9 through 12.  OLSH is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as Director of Advancement.

Principal Responsibilities:

The Director of Advancement assumes primary responsibility for the overall direction and leadership of all Advancement efforts for OLSH, including:

  • Annual, capital, major gifts and endowment campaigns.
  • Prospect identification and research regarding all constituencies, especially alumni.
  • Cultivation and solicitation of prospects.
  • Volunteer organization, recruitment and training.
  • Gift accounting and acknowledgement.
  • Donor recognition and gift opportunity programs.
  • Stewardship.

Working with the President, the Board of Directors and the Advancement Committee, the Director of Advancement will develop multi-year fundraising goals to meet operating budget and balance sheet requirements.  He or she will be responsible for planning and managing the Advancement program’s budget and personnel.  The Director of Advancement reports to the President.

Qualifications:

  • Strong belief in Catholic education and support of the mission of the School.
  • At least 5 years of senior fundraising experience and/or sales experience.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.  A master's degree is preferred.
  • A working knowledge of planned giving.
  • Experience with Sage’s Paradigm fundraising software.
  • A proven ability to manage a successful full-service fundraising program.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Enthusiasm and a dynamic personality.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with the varied constituencies of the School.
  • Some flexibility in scheduling of hours is desirable.

This position requires a senior-level self-starter who will set goals and see that they are met, who will maintain a direct relationship with School and community leaders, and who can passionately and persuasively communicate the mission of OLSH and the case for support.

The Director of Advancement must adhere to a professional code of ethical conduct, maintain standards of professional competence and confidentiality, and exhibit a willingness to grow professionally in the area of advancement.
