Director of Development, Mental Health America – Allegheny County - Pittsburgh, PA

Mental Health America – Allegheny County’s mission is to provide programs and services that support the health of mind and body and work to eliminate the stigma of mental illness and addiction for all. We do this through education, advocacy, information and referral services.

The Director of Development will report to the President and CEO and will be responsible for providing strategic planning to and management of the overall fundraising efforts, including board development, grants, special events, membership, major gift solicitation and all related activities.

The successful applicant must be committed to the mission of Mental Health America, enthusiastic about the agency’s programs and services and energized by its potential growth. Other qualifications include:

3-5 years experience in fundraising;
Strong organizational, management and interpersonal skills;
Self-motivated;
Ability to work as a team member;
Strong communication and time-management skills;
Experience with targeted event planning;
Excellent presentation skills;
Superb writing skills; and
Open, forthright and collaborative and intellectually curious with a strong work ethic.
