As the parent organization of Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild and Bidwell Training Center, Manchester Bidwell Corporation provides executive management and administrative support for its subsidiaries in the areas of finance, human resources, development, marketing, public relations, facilities, and information technology.

SUMMARY:
Directs the organization’s financial policies.  Oversees all financial functions including accounting, payroll, audit, budget, and cash management. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Provides direct supervision of the Manager and Assistant Manager of Finance.  Oversees supervision of Staff Accountant, A/P-A/R Specialist, and Purchasing Specialist.
  • Prepares closing of Manchester Bidwell Corporation and National Center for Arts & Technology.  Coordinates and oversees monthly closing process of Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild, Bidwell Training Center, Harbor Gardens Park and Manchester Bidwell Development Trust.
  • Analyzes inter-company transactions and prepares consolidated elimination entries.
  • Writes financial narrative for board of directors and prepares consolidated and consolidating financial reporting package.
  • Coordinates annual audit and tax return preparation.
  • Coordinates and compiles annual operating and capital budget.
  • Monitors cash flow and invests excess cash to maximize earnings.
  • Analyzes grant agreements and award letters to determine proper accounting treatment and compliance requirements.
  • Manages accounting system setup and security.
  • Identifies deficiencies in internal control and develops new procedures as necessary.
  • Documents and maintains accounting policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position supervises the Manager of Finance and Assistant Manager of Finance. Oversees assignments delegated to the A/P-A/R Specialist, Staff Accountant, and Purchasing Specialist.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
B.S. and minimum of 7 years previous related experience.  C.P.A., public accounting experience, and experience in a non-profit environment preferred.  Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Excel, required.
