Family Counselor, Light of Life Rescue Mission - Pittsburgh, PA

Do you want to work in a dynamic team oriented organization committed to growth and transformation? Light of Life has an immediate opening for a full-time Family Counselor in the Women and Children’s Program. Work with a team of other case managers, counselors, educators, and other professionals as we work to help those with addiction issues transform their lives. The Family Counselor’s responsibility is to facilitate growth and development as a strong and healthy family system. Counsel should be biblically based and address family system dynamics, physical health, substance abuse and recovery, legal and mental/emotional needs and services.

Qualifications include being Ministry minded with the passionate belief and commitment to invest in individuals, demonstrating Christ’s love and grace through healthy relationship and practical assistance. You must be grounded in the Christian faith as a mature, active member of the body of Christ and possess strong interpersonal skills, collaborative, and work effectively with diverse groups of people. Additionally, candidate should possess the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while achieving program outcomes and meeting deadlines.

Education requires a Bachelors degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field, plus two (2) to four (4) years prior related experience, and OR any equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, knowledge of recovery, addiction, mental illness and family systems and dynamics is a must. Computer literacy and proficiency in Word, Excel, and internet experience is also a must.
