Staff Accountant, Confidential Agency - Pittsburgh, PA

A progressive not-for-profit, social services agency, located in Pittsburgh, is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This newly created position requires someone who is highly responsible, organized, and has excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Not-for-profit/fund accounting experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of G.A.A.P.
Government grant administration/invoicing experience desired.
Third party billing experience is a plus.
Act 33/34 clearance required.

Responsibilities

General journal entry, account analysis and general ledger reconciliation
Accounts payable invoice entry, check processing, and reconciliation/analysis.
Accounts receivable/ cash receipts entry and deposit preparation.
Monthly bank reconciliation.
Monthly and quarterly grant invoicing and reconciliation.
Assist with budget development/preparation.

Skills

Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Demonstrated leadership qualities.
Proficient in use of computerized accounting systems.
Must demonstrate decision making, problem solving and analytical skills with particular attention given to detail and accuracy
