Position Title: Resource and Information Specialist
Salary: Mid $30K range and benefit package
Position Summary
Essential Job Functions
- Coordinate information, referral and outreach services for client youth regarding mental health, family focused counseling, education enrichment and academic support.
- Administer and analyze BASC and/or other appropriate testing for diagnosis.
- Write grant proposals to secure agency funding.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, associates, outside agencies and the general public.
- Assist in the implementation of new program regulations, policies and procedures.
- Work with Youth Enrichment Services staff to develop the best referral plans to meet the needs of each client.
- Monitor the effectiveness of referrals.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with people of diverse backgrounds, healthcare facilities, businesses and other appropriate organizations.
- Maintain records, prepare statistical reports, and correspondence as requested.
- Maintain updated information on resources and services available for client youth.
- Maintain information database and updates.
- Calculate hours of contacts with clients for invoicing.
- Update and maintain resource booklet for out sourced referrals.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Youth Enrichment policies and procedures, Children, Youth, and Family Services Regulations, and the Juvenile Justice Court System.
- Perform activities and functions of all levels with the organization as required in order to maintain client services.
- Promote the goals and objectives of Youth Enrichment Services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Certifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Services, Social Work, Education or a related field. Education/training may be substituted for work experience on a year for year basis to be determined by the Reviewing Board.
- Current Pennsylvania Act 33/34 clearances.
- Certificates in Grief Counseling, Anger Management, and Life Skills Techniques.
Experience/Minimum Requirements
- Two years of full-time experience working directly with the public in a social services or human services environment. (Minimum 32 hours per week)
Other Skills/Abilities
- Familiarity with computer database and word processing packages
- Superior communication, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills
- Flexibility in schedule and approach
- Ability to use good judgment
- Ability to focus on task and to multitask
- Ability to work both as an individual and in a group
Working conditions
Generally works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Must be available to travel to client homes, courts, and schools as required.
