Position Title:  Mentoring Program Coordinator

Salary:  $30K range and benefit package

Position Summary

Essential Job Function:

  • Coordinate and plan mentoring specific programs for youth in all programs.
  • Coordinate and plan weekly life skills for youth in Diversion Program and Mentoring Partnerships.
  • Transition youth from Diversion Program into Mentoring Partnership Program.
  • Coordinate and plan annual summer teen mentoring trainings and certifications.
  • Coordinate and plan field trips and outings that will expose youth to cultural and recreational activities.
  • Coordinate career development for youth via college tours, career shadowing, etc.
  • Establish and monitor mentor and mentee matches.
  • Establish and maintain community support and working relationships with in schools.
  • Conduct school visits and promote school attendance, academics, and positive behavior.
  • Recruit youth from schools and communities to participate in our programs.
  • Recruit volunteers to assist on special projects, cultural activities, and other related programs.
  • Conduct home visits and promote parental guidelines for youth.
  • Attend all assigned meeting for Mentoring Partnership of South Western Pennsylvania.
  • Attend relevant trainings, conference, and meetings to position as well as youth.
  • Distribute marketing materials and advertise Youth Enrichment Services, Inc. events.
  • Promote the goals and objectives of Youth Enrichment Services, Inc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Education, Social Service or Associate Degree and commensurate relative experience.
  • Current Pennsylvania Act 33/34 Clearances.
  • Must have current and valid driver’s license and available transportation.

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Two to three years of experience working with at-risk youth and programming.
  • Grant writing experience in youth affiliated programming.

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient with computer word processing and database packages.
  • Maintain website with recent photos and upcoming events.
  • Ability to write comprehensively and legibly.
  • Submission of reports according to deadlines.
  • Flexibility in schedule and approach
  • Able to use good judgment
  • Be a positive influence to client youth

Working Conditions

Generally works in an office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions.  Position requires one to travel locally to schools, courts, homes, and work flexible hours.
