Afterschool Program Manager

Reports To:  Executive Director
Status:  Full-Time
Posting Date:  August 6, 2010
Closing Date:  August 20, 2010               
Salary Range:  $32,000 - $37,500

JOB SUMMARY:This staff person will be responsible for ensuring that the education team works together to ensure that the academic component of what Wireless Neighborhoods offers its partnering organizations is clear, attainable and reportable. This may require the Afterschool Program Manager, among other duties, to monitor member organizations’ afterschool programs, provide group and shoulder to shoulder trainings, ensure program outcomes are being accomplished, develop new program partners, assist groups in the implementation of new program components, and assist with the development and or assessment of curriculum materials and evaluation tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and implement the process by which all program and training outcomes are accomplished
  • Oversee the implementation of all agency afterschool  programs
  • Supervise all data collection at partner sites
  • Oversee the implementation of all initiatives developed for program and training partners
  • Assess community organizations’ capacity to deliver quality afterschool programming
  • Provide academic training and support for partner organizations’ afterschool program staff
  • Assist the independent evaluator with the collection of all relevant program data,
  • Develop and maintain relationships with neighborhood school principals and teachers as appropriate to support community partner afterschool programs
  • Evaluate the functionality and appropriateness of all curriculum materials
  • Identify and market membership to new organizations
  • Represent Wireless Neighborhoods when necessary in trainings, meetings and other public events
  • Assist in the writing and editing of proposals
  • Assist in developing marketing strategies and opportunities for the organization’s afterschool components
  • Others duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
  • 2-3  years experience in a community based after school program setting, preferred
  • 2-3 years experience in program management, preferred
  • Technology skills
  • Demonstrated organization and leadership skills
  • Willingness to work during afterschool hours ,which may include evening and some weekends
  • Ability to interact with school personnel, parents, community leaders, students, and others in a positive, pleasant manner
  • A Valid PA driver’s license
