The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, one of four regional institutions in the prestigious University of Pittsburgh system, seeks an enterprising and dynamic leader who is prepared to move the institution’s Advancement and Alumni Relations programs to the next level. Reporting to the President and serving on the executive leadership team, this position provides overall leadership and strategic direction of fundraising and alumni relations. The Executive Director will work closely with the President, system advancement officers, and an active network of volunteer fundraisers to enable the institution to achieve its top priorities.
Requirements: The preferred candidate will possess a master’s degree and five years of progressively responsible administrative experience in fundraising at a college or university.
Responsibilities: The Executive Director of Institutional Advancement is responsible for the development of major giving, annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, planned giving, donor relations, alumni relations, research and prospect management, and stewardship programs, together with the management of all campaign initiatives.
Specific responsibilities include developing long-range plans for steady growth in external support of the University and ensuring that fundraising projections continue to increase each year; overseeing alumni relations and the advancement of the alumni association; serving as Managing Director of the Bradford Educational Foundation; soliciting corporate and foundation gifts; managing the day-to-day operations of Institutional Advancement, including building, mentoring and overseeing a high-performing staff; working collaboratively with the President, faculty and staff, Advisory Board members, and Alumni Association to ensure identification, communication, engagement, and stewardship of individual donors, corporations, and foundations to meet fundraising objectives; employing a participatory leadership style to build positive, mutually respectful relationships and maintain regular communications with colleagues across the institution and University system.
