Executive Director, United Way of Monroe County - Tannersville, PA

The Executive Director serves as the lead staff professional of the organization, oversee all functional areas including but not exclusively administration, finances, fundraising, fund distribution, agency relations, community initiatives, communications, and building and operations maintenance. It is the Executive Director that fosters the development and implementation of the organizational strategic direction. The Executive Director is directly responsible to the Board of Directors and the Board Advisory Group.

Specific duties include:
Support the policies and implement the strategic direction of the Board of Directors

Provide leadership in development of the organization's strategic and operational direction

Train, supervise, and cultivate all staff, conducting an annual performance review of all staff. The Director may hire or fire individuals based on the needs of the organization, and with the consent of the Board of Directors and in consultation with the staffing plan and personnel policies.

Oversee the conduct of the overall annual United Way Campaign, working with the Campaign Chair to recruit and train volunteers, and give support to all facets of the annual campaign

Oversee the overall finances and budgets for the organization

Build and maintain effective relationships throughout the community

Strengthen relations with all partner organizations

Ensure the preparation of all Board, campaign, fund distribution, and financial reports and analysis as needed or requested.

Be an effective spokesperson on behalf of the whole organization

Lead the development and maintenance of the endowment fund

Create an environment for effective synergies between the staff, volunteers, and community

Be visible and active in the community, speaking/promoting the United Way wherever possible

Demonstrate and build enthusiasm for United Way activities wherever possible

Perform all duties assigned by the Board of Directors.

Education Requirements: BA or BS degree

Experience Requirements: 3-5 years experience as a senior manager of a United Way, or 5 years experience in a non-profit organization
