Position Description:
This position manages the Ten Thousand Villages Pittsburgh volunteer and community outreach programs with direct responsibility for the creation and maintenance of the store’s volunteer program. The position requires the planning and effective execution of community events and outreach activities. The incumbent will be expected to help create and maintain a positive work environment for all volunteer staff. As a pivotal employee of Ten Thousand Villages Pittsburgh, the incumbent will internally and externally model and fully embrace the organization’s mission and values of integrity, respect, teamwork, collaboration and courtesy.
Requirements:
We are searching for a person who is fully committed to the volunteer based organization and operating principles of KingdomCome Inc. d.b.a Ten Thousand Villages. The successful candidate will have 2-3 years volunteer management, retail store experience and/or event planning experience. A BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience is required as is a strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint along with point-of-sale and inventory control software. We prefer a self-motivated outgoing, energetic person who enjoys interacting with members of the public.
