It is the mission of the Woodlands Foundation to enrich the lives of children, young adults, and adults with disability and chronic illness by offering its versatile and fully accessible facility to organizations that serve individuals with disability and chronic illness so that they may implement their own programs at the Woodlands; and by creating adaptive therapeutic programs for individuals with a variety of disabilities and chronic illnesses that promote cultural and environmental awareness and provide recreational, social and spiritual opportunities.  The Woodlands fulfills its mission by providing programs that support and strengthen the development of skills on its beautiful 32-acre campus located in Bradford Woods, PA. 

The Woodlands is seeking a part-time Development Manager to support the achievement of annual fundraising goals and objectives.

Job Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to plan, implement, and execute the Woodlands’ annual special events to meet or exceed budgeted goals.  The Development Manager will also assist with other fundraising efforts including grant writing, annual and direct appeals, and the cultivation and management of corporate partners in support of revenue objectives. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the organization, planning and implementation of special events consistent with the Woodlands’ development plan including, but not limited to, two annual golf tournaments and an annual gala.
  • Work with the Development and Event Committees on the identification and solicitation of event sponsors.
  • Develop critical timelines and schedules for all events, meeting designated deadlines.
  • Schedule and assist with the preparation of regular update and planning meetings with internal and external committee members/stakeholders.
  • Manage all correspondence related to special events to include sponsorship packages; collateral marketing materials; general correspondence; and acknowledgement letters.
  • Provide support to the volunteers, volunteer/staff committees working on special events.
  • Manage the production and distribution of all event materials.
  • Ensure that income and expenses as well as donor stewardship is handled in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the grant seeking and grant writing process as necessary.
  • Assist with the development and execution of annual and direct appeals.
  • Cultivate and manage existing and prospective corporate partners.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication; marketing; business; health/human services or related field.
  • A minimum of three years of fundraising experience with an emphasis on Special Events.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong administrative and management skills.
  • Software proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required; experience with a donor database.
