The Samaritan Counseling Center of W. PA, a faith-based non-profit, established in 1982 is seeking a Director of Development & Marketing.

The position oversees all areas of development and marketing.  S/he will create, manage and implement the development and marketing plan with an emphasis in four areas:  fund-raising events, major donor solicitation, annual campaign/general donor management, and support from foundations, churches and corporations.  The Director will take personal responsibility for strategy, reporting, and donor development including major gifts, annual appeal, building relationships with individual donors and churches, and working with our grant-writer. 

S/he will be enthusiastic, entrepreneurial and will have proven leadership, management and organizational skills.  S/he will be expected to broaden the organization’s support network which would increase funding as well as collaborative work opportunities. 

Requirements: 

1.  At least 5 years of fund-raising experience
2. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with a Master’s degree preferred
3. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of fund-raising databases including Giftworks
4. Excellent oral and written skills
5. Collaborative management style and good “people” skills
6. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
7. Writing/editing/mailing quarterly newsletters (2 electronic and 2 hard-copy)
8. Comfortable using and updating social media
9. Manage all donor correspondence, produce specialized correspondence, prepare letters of acknowledgement, and schedule/attend in-person meetings when appropriate

Salary:  Commensurate with experience
