America’s #1 conservation service organization, The Student Conservation Association (SCA), seeks a Program Manager for our Three Rivers Regional Office (TRRO) located in Pittsburgh, PA. This is an exciting opportunity in community programs for a team-oriented individual who is passionate about youth development and environmental issues.

Primary Responsibilities: The Program Manager will work with a team of program staff and focus on the overall implementation of SCA’s Community Programs in Pittsburgh to ensure high quality programming for high school students and young adults. The Program Manager will supervise full-time Program Coordinators as well as temporary crew leaders, review and track expenses, manage evaluation, and serve as the local lead staff representative for community programs to external audiences as well as internal teams and processes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for engaging young people in environmental learning opportunities, work well in a team and as a supervisor, and have experience managing multiple publicly-funded programming streams.

Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in youth development and/or in outdoor skills and work projects
Bachelor’s Degree in environmental education, community/youth development field, or related discipline; preferred
3+ years experience in supervising and training program staff
Budget and expense tracking skills
Experience working in a publicly-funded nonprofit environment highly preferred
Effective communication skills
Demonstrated experience with partnership development and management;
Knowledge of MS Office software required
Valid driver’s license and MVR that meets SCA's guidelines
Must pass SCA criminal background check
Willingness to travel
