Quantum Theatre is a mid-sized, Equity theatre that produces new and existing works in unusual venues, none of them theatres.  It is twenty years old, founder driven, idiosyncratic in its artistic and administrative approaches, and highly acclaimed for its work in and outside of Pittsburgh.  Quantum seeks a manager to serve as a partner to the founding Artistic and Executive Director and to work with the company’s effective board of directors, with primary responsibilities in finance, marketing, and general administration.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Finance:
Quantum employs a payroll service and a ticket service.  You will work with these entities, assist Executive Director in creating budgets, forecasting, and applying creativity to the maintenance and growth of Quantum’s financial health. You will oversee budgets’ execution, processing expenses and income, paying bills, and creating reports for director, finance committee, and board.  Work with auditors annually.

Marketing:
Quantum has energetic branding and audience development efforts underway, as well as a long history of marketing its works through print and electronic media, seeking group sales, and engaging the community in non-traditional ways.  You will lead the organization toward realization of ticket sale goals, participate in seeking marketing-based corporate sponsorships, and manage delivery of sponsorship benefits.

General Admin:
With Quantum’s heavy focus on artistic objectives, the administrative operations are lean and primarily staffed by three: the Artistic/Executive Director, Managing Director, a full-time Administrative Associate, all supported by interns and volunteers for supplemental tasks. The company is also served by a full-time Director of Production who has oversight of the Technical Director and Stage Manager and works closely with the office staff.  Duties are divided by skill and many are collaborative and shared. The Artistic Director handles most development activities; the Managing Director, finance and marketing responsibilities.  The Administrative Associate manages data, volunteers, technology, and social media, as directed by the Managing Director. 

QUALIFICATIONS SOUGHT:
Leadership.  Ability to be strategic in planning and execution and to communicate effectively in written and verbal form across a spectrum – with the board, professional service providers, artists, staff, and volunteers.  Flexibility to work irregular and sometimes long hours – presence at performances is often important.  Computer skills – QuickBooks, Microsoft Access, Outlook.  Ability to collaborate and generosity of spirit – the company is small and no employee or volunteer is above any job required to accomplish our mission.  Interest in the artistic adventurousness that has built our successful company; desire to manage and sell the unique profile and product of Quantum Theatre.
