Purpose

The Fundraising Manager is responsible for growing support from the corporate community for Pittsburgh Opera productions, education programs, and community outreach activities. The position is one of a six-person Development department raising nearly $5 million annually.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identification and research of prospects
  • Expansion of and solicitation for corporate sponsorship and underwriting opportunities
  • Execution of corporate membership program
  • Recruitment of prospects for and facilitation of support through Pennsylvania’s EITC program
  • Development and execution of targeted communication and cultivation activities
  • Recruitment and management of Board members and other community leaders to assist in the cultivation process
  • Maintenance of donor records and tracking systems for cultivation activities, gifts, payments, and reporting schedules
  • Establishment of goals and strategies based on existing donor histories

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum three (3) years relevant work experience
  • Proven success in increasing support through Corporate giving programs
  • Highly motivated
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with donor management/fundraising software, Tessitura preferred
  • Ability to strategically and creatively achieve fundraising goals
  • Comfortable working in a busy, open work environment
  • Available to work nights and weekends as needed
  • History of being a personal and professional asset to an organization
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, Board members and volunteers
  • Possess an inner desire and willingness to learn new skills and achieve professional growth
