REPORTS TO:   Director of Development for Pirates Charities

STATUS:   Seasonal

SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for assisting with the planning, implementation, and execution of Pirates Charities' annual special events, in support of the revenue objectives outlined in the annual strategic plan. The key outcome of this position is the successful planning, development, execution and evaluation of Pirates Charities' special events for the purpose of broadening the base of donors and generating important revenue to support the mission.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum three years experience in fundraising with an emphasis on special events
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

DESIRED:

    • Experience with a donor database

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Assist with the organization, planning and implementation of special events consistent with Pirates Charities' development plan including, but not limited to: annual golf tournaments, in-park silent auctions, in-park fundraising events, and signature events.
  • Develop critical timelines and schedules for all events; meet designated deadlines.
  • Schedule and assist with the preparation of regular update and planning meetings with internal and external committee members/stakeholders.
  • Manage all correspondence related to special events such as: sponsorship packages, collateral marketing materials, general correspondence, and acknowledgement letters.
  • Provide support to the volunteers, volunteer/staff committees working on special events.
  • Coordinate the production and distribution of all event materials.
  • Ensure that income and expenses as well as donor stewardship is handled in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Support the entry of donor information into the organization's database for the purpose of donor cultivation, financial reporting, and donor correspondence.
  • Manage donor recognition process, primarily acknowledgement letters for tax purposes.
  • All other duties as assigned by Director of Development for Pirates Charities.
