POSITION: Director of Fund Development
Reports to: President, NIMMO Foundation
Hours: Part-time – 15 hours per week

General Statement of Responsibilities: Working with the Foundation President, responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and tracking all donors and fund development activities to meet the annual goals of the Foundation including research, coordination, writing and follow-up of all grant proposals.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish a short and long range development strategy and goals for fundraising in collaboration with the President and members of the Board of Trustees.
  • Research potential funding sources including public and private grant sources (agencies, corporations and foundations) to identify restricted and unrestricted funding. 
  • Coordinate, write and finalize grant proposals.  Monitor grant and funding deadlines and communicate reporting requirements.
  • Engage donors and leverage key relationships to develop new opportunities and engage current ones.
  • Maintain orderly electronic and hard files related to donor gifts and grants management.
  • Update and coordinate the production of all Foundation collateral material and ensure the .Web-site is maintained.
  • Manage all donor correspondence, produce specialized correspondence, prepare letters of acknowledgment, and schedule/attend in-person meetings when appropriate.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidates:

  • Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of 3 years of direct development experience with a non-profit.
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and understanding of strategic development.
  • Thorough understanding of the Grants Community and all components of a diversified funding base.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of fundraising databases including eTapestry.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. 
  • Loyal, flexible, attentive to detail, self-motivated, organized with high energy and the ability to multi-task.
  • Passion for the mission of the Foundation.
