Position: Administrative Coordinator -- Freelance, 30-40 hours a week
Luminari (www.luminari.org) is a new Pittsburgh-based, non-profit organization founded to create original activities that broaden minds, inspire innovations and promote community engagement.
POSITION: ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR
REPORTS TO: THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/PRESIDENT OF LUMINARI
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum two years of professional experience to include event planning, administrative coordination and successful interaction with the public. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Internet applications and able to type 50 WPM. Strong communication skills required, both written and verbal. Excellent organization skills and ability to work on multiple projects is critical to the position. Experience with social media marketing preferred.
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Coordinate and promote multiple educational programs integral to the success of Luminari and perform administrative functions in support of the Executive Director/President of the organization.
DUTIES:
- Provide administrative support for Luminari’s activities including event and meeting coordination, database management, correspondence, website and social media updates, expenses record keeping, report generation, and research.
- Promote and market educational programs to prospective participants; respond to participant inquiries.
- Plan, coordinate and serve as onsite host for multiple educational programs/events.
- Handle registration in accordance with established program guidelines and sign-off on student registrations.
- Assist Executive Director and program directors with ongoing and special project work.
- Assist with new intern recruitment, setup and supervision; manage telephone operation.
- Perform routine tasks such as typing, filing, ordering supplies, etc. as required.
- Maintain good relations between the organization and the community.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Flexible hours as needed averaging 30-40 hrs./week; full-time during duration of events or programs.
