POSITION CONCEPT:

This position supervises the implementation and expansion of JA programs, directs all recruiting, training and program management, monitors all programs for adherence to models and quality maintenance, and supervises the marketing to all education customers.  The position is also a liaison to Board committees.  Requires local travel (60%+).  Time allocation is 85% program operations, 10% resource generation, 5% administration. 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supervises program quantity and quality.  Assures consultant recruiting and retention through individual renewals and company liaisons.  Develops and supervises/implements training programs and training evaluation.  Supervises placement and scheduling of trained consultants.  Assures adherence to program models and files all needed program variances.  Supervises development and implementation of plan for teacher and consultant contacts including class visits, newsletters, phone contacts, teacher visits, and call-back sessions.  Solicits feedback from participants through a final evaluation instrument.
  2. Supervises or delivers sales presentations to support business plan to new districts, schools, and prospective teachers.  Assures renewal commitments of schools/teachers.   Renews forecasts and interim reports with Education Managers.  Participates in education community to assure Junior Achievement's position in the education community.
  3. Oversees development and implementation of recognition programs that are of interest and value to participants, including events, scholarships, awards and gifts.
  4. Oversees general records and correspondence with volunteers and prospects.  Files all class registration forms (Raisers Edge).  Communicates with entire organization on program issues.  Supervises procurement and delivery of all program materials.
  5. Works closely with all program related Board committees in carrying out their specific functions.  Oversees material preparation for Board and Committee meetings.
  6. Develops good relationships with local superintendents and other curriculum/administrative personnel in key school districts.  Develops and maintains relationships with state/local government/education leaders.
  7. Recruits, trains, evaluates performance and coaches’ education staff.
  8. Assists in budget development for all programs and program related activities, e.g. volunteer orientation, recognition events.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Required: 
Three years Junior Achievement or equivalent experience.  Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.  Strong oral/written communication, organizational/planning and supervisory skills.  Ability to manage multiple priorities.  Self starter. Computer literacy.

Desired:
Bachelors degree or higher in business or education.  Four years prior experience within the education area of the organization and management of one or more full-time education or operations professionals.
