Family Based Senior Clinician, Every Child Inc. - Pittsburgh, PA

Every Child Inc. began in 1997 serving the specific needs of birth, foster, and adoptive families and children with special needs from Allegheny County and surrounding counties in Southwestern Pennsylvania. We are a non-profit agency of approximately 75 employees and have succeeded in serving over 3,000 families in the past 12 years. Every Child’s staff is fully dedicated to helping guide the family through each chapter of their particular story, serving all children with special needs regardless of their age, race or disability. We are currently recruiting for the following position: FAMILY BASED SENIOR CLINICIAN – 2 Openings Position Requirements: Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field. PA licensure and/or certification by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapist preferred. Technical versatility to implement a variety of treatment interventions to ameliorate child/family needs. Minimum of two years related experience. Proficient in problem solving, well developed interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent clinical skills, familiar with psychiatric diagnosis and proficient in family systems approach and other therapeutic modalities such as behavioral management, cognitive therapy, interpersonal, solution focused, parent management, psycho dynamic etc. Ability to demonstrate effective problem solving and negotiation skills with consumers and to empower families. Familiarity with family systems therapy model. Mandatory ability to be “crisis on-call” to families during office hours and departmental rotations. Ability to maintain highly confidential data. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision and multi-task to meet important deadlines. Ownership of a reliable vehicle. Valid PA driver’s license and proof of insurance. Act 33/34, child abuse, criminal and FBI clearances required. Position Summary: The Family Based Senior Mental Health Clinician will provide intensive home based family therapy and support services to families whose children and/or adolescents meet the criteria for a psychiatric/mental health diagnosis and are at risk for impatient psychiatric hospitalization or other out-of-home placements. Therapeutic services should be tailored to the specific needs of the individual/family and may vary depending upon the needs and progress of the individual/family. Clinically sound services should be implemented to enable the child to be maintained in his/her home environment and to function appropriately in the least restrictive environment deemed medically necessary in accordance with the current Medical Assistance Program. Responsible for complying with all PA State, County, managed care, and departmental paperwork expectations. Required to meet departmental productivity standards as required by every Child. Other agency related duties as required or assigned.
