Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Controller to oversee and provide leadership to the Finance and Accounting team by maintaining and analyzing financial information necessary for efficient and effective operations. This position, located in Oakland, will report to the Director of Finance and Administration/CFO. The individual in this position will be responsible for directing finance staff in the areas of cash receipts, disbursements, account reconciliations, grant management, and reporting; provide CFO with analysis of cash flow, investment performance, and budget vs. actual reports; oversee day-to-day accounting functions and monthly close process; and direct preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including the annual audit and IRS 990 Form. Qualified candidates will have a strong knowledge of the non-profit industry, generally accepted accounting standards, sound internal control environments, and accounting software; Blackbaud experience preferred. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with co-workers across the system is critical. Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaborative, and analytical skills are essential. A Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Accounting or Business is required; CPA license preferred. A minimum of 8 years financial management is required, preferably in a non-profit organization. A thorough knowledge of US GAAP, and extensive computer skills and experience with accounting software is also required.
