Job Title: Community Outreach Coordinator
Status: Part-time, with potential for transitioning to Full-time position
Reports to: Store Manager
Job Description:
Construction Junction seeks an energetic individual as a Part-time Community Outreach Coordinator to establish networks in the community to promote CJ’s mission through tradeshows, events, fairs, etc. Candidate will develop classes and workshops related to CJ materials and mission, as well as work with community organizations to facilitate CJ ReGives Program. Candidate will also recruit and manage all CJ volunteers and work with Store Manager for volunteer needs, including volunteers for CJ’s annual fundraiser, the Steel City Big Pour.
Qualifications:
This position requires a highly organized, individual with strong communications and interpersonal skills. The Community Outreach Coordinator will work collegially with all staff members, and participate creatively and cooperatively in advancing the overall mission of the organization.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, including written, verbal and public speaking
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, desktop publishing and database software
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while providing detailed reporting
- Professional and positive attitude, strong work ethic, collaborative team player
- Valid driver’s license. Position requires access to a car and some driving, evening and weekend events including transporting event and CJ materials. Experience driving box trucks desired.
- Commitment to organization’s mission and community efforts
- General knowledge of building materials and/or retailing of building materials is desirable but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Establish networks within business community, government, education, etc. to promote CJ’s mission. Attend trade shows, fairs and events and network with vendors and attendees. Pass all donation leads to Donations and Logistics Manager via Salesforce. Coordinate relevant leads for partnerships with Store Manager.
- Develop and manage workshop/class schedule, including identifying potential presenters based on interests of CJ customers. Publicize events and secure attendees. Responsible for meeting revenue targets through workshop fees and community room space rentals.
- Manage CJ ReGives Program, including receipt and evaluation of requests. Work with Store Manager to develop program budget and present recommendations to him/her for final approval.
- Recruit and manage volunteers for all CJ needs, including store work and community collection events.
- Coordinate all or part of special events, including but not limited to the Steel City Big Pour.
Physical Requirements:
Position requires regular lifting and carrying of 20 lbs, with occasional lifting and carrying up to 40lbs. This position also requires standing, sitting and walking.
