Organization Background Founded in 1993, Allegheny Land Trust (ALT) has protected 1,500 acres in 22 municipalities in Allegheny and Washington Counties. Mission: To serve as the lead land trust conserving and stewarding lands that support the scenic, recreational and environmental well-being of communities in Allegheny County and its environs. The Opportunity ALT has evolved and grown to a point where the organization requires someone who is able to expand its reach in terms of land conservation and financial sustainability. ALT currently has three potential properties under consideration that would add 20% to its existing holdings in 2012 alone. The Board intends to launch a campaign to substantially grow the Operating Endowment. The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills to lead the organization as well as to serve as the primary development professional for the organization. Qualifications An undergraduate degree in land planning, non-profit management, business, management or related field. Prior management experience within a non-profit organization. Grant proposal and report writing for non-profit organizations. Has designed and implemented endowment campaigns. Marketed a successful planned giving program. Strong regional contacts in the local development community and government. Resilience, grace and optimism. Extroverted salesperson that is a self-starter. Good speaker who can engage an audience. Good writer. Earned the designations of CFRE, ACFRE, FAHP, or CFRM (preferred).
